Houseman, born on September 22nd, 1902 in Bucharest, Romania, had the small role of the driving instructor. After Frank chased an assassin out of Nordberg's hospital room, the assassin got into a car and drove off. Frank waved down a car but it was no use so he got out his badge and instructed a car to stop. He got into the car and told the person to drive it. The driving instructor told his student what to do and Frank was upset that it was a beginning driver. As the student drove, the instructor told her to give it a little gas. The car got to a parking garage, at one point, and the student drove down the wrong way and a truck almost hit her. The instructor told her to put the carin reverse, and back up. When the truck driver yelled at the student, the instructor calmly told his student to do something rude to him. Houseman had parts in the movies 'Scrooged', 'Another Woman', and 'Ghost Story.' In 1974, Houseman won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film, 'The Paper Chase.' Other Oscar nominees for Best Supporting Actor that year were Vincent Gardenia for 'Bang the Drum Slowly', Jack Gilford for 'Save the Tiger', Jason Miller for 'The Exorcist', and Randy Quaid for 'The Last Detail.'
